blobs in space
If you have a fast internet connection (whilst typing this I invented a new word 'internection' and I cannot understand why this word has not been invented before - you saw it first here!) you may want to visit www.thebeop.com and see this band from space who are in a time bubble. Every now and then they send transmissions of their songs through this portal. If you look closely, you will see that they are wearing blobs by Sharon Fitness.

Jiggle Wiggle Wobble Bounce at Inform Contemporary Jewellery, Christchurch
8th September - 3rd October 2009
Inform Contemporary Jewellery, Christchurch http://www.informjewellery.co.nz
presenting a series of nine new brooches:
“My practice evolves around play, fun and random happenings. I work with silicone because it offers the flexibility, changeability and tactility I need to produce playful wobbly wearable beings. These brooches have a life of their own, often prompting the wearer to jiggle wiggle wobble and bounce along with them. They attract smiles and encourage interaction with others”.

The Multitude is an exhibition curated by Karl Chitham and Caroline Billing highlighting contemporary jewellery practice in New Zealand. Exploring a world that for many will be a complete surprise, it expands the horizons of what we consider to be jewellery and redifines the way we look at it.
The exhibition features the work of thirteen of New Zealand’s most innovative jewellers including Warwick Freeman, Alan Preston, Anna Wallis, Octavia Cook, Andrea Daly, Fran Allison, Elfi Spiewack, Sharon Fitness, Renee Bevan, Mary Curtis, Ross Malcolm, Shelley Norton and Pauline Bern.

'Treasure Chest' at Masterworks Gallery Dec 2008
"Fifteen gold blobs on two bits of black line"
for the Treasure Chest exhibition at Masterworks Gallery Dec 2008.
- I used gold dust from Waihi's Martha Mine in the uglier, dull blobs juxtaposed with three more attractive 'gold' powder pigments.
- the wearable form of this necklace is changeable with a multitude of wearing options and connection points
- necklace can be split to form a necklace and bracelet combo.
